List to Take with you to Surgery

“I wish I had taken that. How could I have forgotten this?” is what we hear from patients when they need these things. We will talk about how useful some of the important things you should put in your suitcase or bag on the way to surgery will be for you.

Many of our guests who come to Istanbul for cosmetic surgery, bariatric surgery, hair transplantation or other surgeries at Clinic Health Beauty Organization ask our assistants the following questions.

“What should I bring with me when I go for plastic surgery”, “What I may need in the hospital”, “What should I put in my suitcase when I go to the surgery”, “What should I put in my bag when I go to Turkey”, “Advice on what I may need in the hospital in Istanbul”

10 Things You Should Take with You to the Hospital

We have listed some of the items you will need for many surgeries, especially cosmetic surgeries.
  1. Long Charging Cable
You are in Istanbul and many people are waiting to hear from you. Or it will be very good for you to hear their voices after the surgery. So be sure to bring a long phone charger cable. Your lying position may be different depending on your surgery. Sockets in hospital rooms may be far from your bed. Be sure to bring your charger with a long cable in your surgical bag.
  1. Body Cleansing Wipes
For aesthetic procedures, you may need to stay in the hospital for 1-2 days, sometimes 3 nights. You may stay in the hospital for 2 nights for BBL and abdominoplasty, 1 night only for liposuction, 1-2 nights for breast augmentation. After the surgery, you may have antiseptic solution stains (brown) on the sides of your neck and certain parts of your body. Waste fluids from liposuction will continue to come out of your body. This may cause unpleasant odor. We recommend that you bring body cleansing wipes with you. You will feel more comfortable wiping your armpits, neck, and arms with these wipes.
  1. 2 Lycra (stretchy) T-shirts or Tank Tops
After cosmetic surgery such as liposuction, BBL, tummy tuck, patients wear a corset. Sometimes these corsets can cause skin sensitivity. It can cause redness, allergies and even small water bags on the skin. If you have this problem, we recommend that you bring a flexible t-shirt to wear under the corset. This will eliminate this potential problem.
  1. 3-4 pieces of underwear
You should pay attention to hygiene after the surgery. Do not forget to bring 3-4 pieces of comfortable and flexible underwear.
  1. Nightgown or Pajamas with Front Buttons or Waist Ties
Be sure to bring a large, loose nightgown or pajamas that you can put on and take off easily. Approximately 4-5 hours after surgery, you will walk down the hospital corridor. A nightgown that is easy to put on and take off will be great for you to feel comfortable and move around in.
  1. A Thick Warm Pair of Socks
The effects of anesthesia and the medications you have been given will change your body’s hot and cold balance. This may cause you to shiver when you leave the office and return to your room. This is normal. It can take about 30-40 minutes. We recommend that you bring a pair of thick, warm socks to make yourself comfortable. You can ask your companion to put these socks on you after you leave the surgery.
  1. Shampoo, Soap and Toothbrush, Lip Moisturizing Cream
Bring your own personal toiletries. Don’t forget your shampoo, soap, and toothbrush.
  1. Easy-to-Wear Slippers
We mentioned that you will be walking around the hospital after surgery. Comfortable, easy-to-wear slippers will make your job easier.
  1. Make a list of all the medicines or drugs you take
You will be asked some questions before the surgery. You can write down the names of the medicines you are taking, why you are taking them, and when you last took them, or you can bring them with you to help you answer the questions.
  1. Passport
Don’t forget to bring your passport. We had guests who missed their flights because of this problem. You should pay attention to this situation, which causes both financial loss, stress, fatigue and time loss. And a friend who will take good care of you The above is a list of things you should put in your suitcase before surgery. But don’t forget that the thing you need most that doesn’t fit in your suitcase is someone to support you and cheer you up.
